ALT House provides a strong example of The Architects’ approach in practice, bringing the project to life, applying the design judgement, technical rigour and close attention to detail needed to deliver a successful and impactful high-value home.

Set on a steeply sloping site with expansive views over Dublin Bay, the house is carefully scaled on approach before opening into a substantial two-storey home that responds intelligently to both the landscape and the wider setting. Materiality played a defining role in the outcome, with brick shaping the design language from openings and recesses to proportions and elevations, requiring a disciplined and highly considered approach throughout.

A carefully selected palette of brick, timber, granite and terrazzo adds warmth, texture and permanence, while courtyards and recessed spaces bring natural light deep into the plan despite the challenging orientation of the site. The result is a home that feels resolved, tactile and quietly confident, and one that reflects the firm’s strength in delivering ambitious, design-led residential projects.
